Rather than accepting the status quo, Corban built the solution he wished existed… a streamlined, end-to-end permitting and pre-construction service designed for California’s most complex municipalities.

Gold Coast Permitting began with a single project: a commercial space in Santa Barbara’s historic district that needed permits pulled on a tight timeline.
When Corban asked the city a straightforward question: “Who can I pay to handle this?”
The answer was simple:
No one.
At the time, no permit expediters or true pre-construction specialists were serving the region.
Recognizing a significant gap, Corban launched a consulting service to help clients understand and navigate the permitting process themselves. It quickly became clear that most clients didn’t just need guidance… they needed someone to own the entire process.
From there, the service evolved into full pre-construction management, including:
